Part-time Departmental Lecturer (Evolution, Cognition, and Culture)

Applications are invited for a part-time Departmental Lecturer in Evolution, Cognition, and Culture for 12 months from October 2017. The post is 18.75 hours per week (50%) based at the Institute of Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology, School of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography, Oxford. The role is needed for a limited time to provide cover for maternity leave.

We are seeking an inspirational teacher with both breadth and depth of knowledge of the key subject area of the post and a full command of the relevant literature. You will teach, examine and supervise both undergraduates and graduate students in principles of evolution and behaviour; mind and culture; evolution and human behaviour; and quantitative methods. You will possess a doctorate in Cognitive and Evolutionary Anthropology (or a related field) and have some experience of teaching and graduate supervision. Ideally you will be familiar with software R.
