Keiko Kanno

DPhil Student

My doctoral research focuses on obesity and food consumption practices in Mongolia. My research aims to understand how sociodemographic factors and everyday dietary behaviours are associated with obesity. I am also interested in migration, urban health, social determinants of health, food environments, health disparities and the political economy of diet.

I am committed to public engagement and have exhibited my research work at the Pitt Rivers Museum for the public. I have also presented my research to school pupils as parts of Anthropology Open Day at St John’s College and Undergraduate Admissions and Outreach Programmes at the University of Oxford.
